An important consideration when choosing your new cabinets is the overlay style. The overlay determines how much of the cabinet frame is visible around the doors and drawers when they’re closed. Your choice of overlay will change the appearance of your space from traditional to contemporary. The two most common types of overlays are: Full and Half-Inch:
When you select a Full Overlay, there will be very little cabinet frame showing around each door and drawer front when they are closed. This will create a more modern, seamless appearance.
When you select a Half-Inch Overlay, this will leave two inches of the cabinet frame exposed between the doors when they are closed, creating a more traditional look.
